Thank You

Posted Wednesday April 29, 2009

Dear Maestro Koh and the members of LGCO

I hope you all are still enjoying the hot spell after a long and cold winter this year.

I would like to thank everyone who had participated in this concert and “sweated” through Shostakovich with me. I know everyone had to deal with extremely wide range of pitch and complicated rhythm. I thought you guys sounded wonderful and got the right spirit of the piece. On a personal note, this was a piece I once won a concerto competition with back in conservatory. The prize was supposed to be an opportunity to perform the piece with the conservatory orchestra. But the conductor at the time refused to put it on the program because it was “way too difficult” for the orchestra. So I never got a chance to play it with an orchestra till I performed it with you. I’m only telling you this story to let you know how difficult this piece really is. It’s a hard piece for any professional orchestras, and I was so grateful of your high level performance. Your willingness and professionalism made this experience a very special one for me. I will always remember this performance with such a fondness toward you all. I hope you enjoyed the piece as much as I did. I thought the Beethoven was a big success as well, and that’s not a light piece either! My deep appreciation goes out to Vincent who was willing to put this big piece on the program and tackle it with full force.

Congratulations on your successful concert. I am looking forward to working with you again in October. Wish you a wonderful summer!

With Much Love,

Naho

Amateur Chamber Music Weekend 2009

Posted Wednesday March 4, 2009

The Amateur Chamber Music Weekend is an event for chamber music aficionados who are interested in working with great performers to improve their ensemble skills. This year, the weekend will be hosted June 12-14 at the Seagle Music Colony, a splendid venue tucked away a stone’s throw from Schroon Lake in the picturesque Adirondacks. The camp will consist of coached chamber sessions, a night of informal performances by participants, and finish off with a performance by our talented teachers!

We welcome all adult musicians to join us! Check out our brochure, which includes more information about our music coaches, scheduling, and accommodations, as well as the application form: Amateur Chamber Music Weekend 2009 Brochure
